Basilique du Sacré Cœur

Just a quick share today of a layout I made for the O Stash Challenge with O Scraps collab kit Parisian Holiday. My daughter took these photos of Sacré Cœur while she was in Paris.

 Journaling on this layout says:

 Basilica of the Sacred Heart

 Basilique du Sacré Cœur

Since 1885 (before construction had been completed), it has been rumored that the remains of Jesus Christ are housed in Sacré Cœur. These remains have been continually on display in a monstrance above the high altar. Perpetual adoration of the Blessed Sacrament has continued uninterrupted in the Basilica since 1885. Because of this, tourists and others are asked to dress appropriately when visiting the basilica and to observe silence as much as possible, so as not to disturb persons who have come from around the world to pray in this special place.

Sacré-Cœur has managed to keep its beaming white color even in the polluted air of Paris, because it is built of travertine stone. When it rains, the stones react to the water and secrete calcite, which acts like a bleacher.

Just for fun, I mad you a all in one template of this layout. Journaling and shadows are on seperate layers so you can use just the items you want. Parts of the journaling are by me, others are quotes taken from Wikipedia and A View On Cities. Font is Andalus. Click here to download. Sorry, this link has expired.
