Time is running out on Babett’s Value Pack Sale, you don’t want to miss out. See my post “I have another freebie for you from LB Creations” for more info.

I made today’s featured layouts with “Antiqued” and “Antiqued Add on” by LB Creations. LOVE these kits, such pretty colors and patterns. Fonts are LD Teddy’s Trip, LD Stylish and Freebooter Script. The journaling on the first layout pretty much describes the event. Which is continued in my post “I have another freebie for you from LB Creations”.

The summer of 2006 was a time of great change and uncertainty for our family. After we decided to adopt ——-, it was apparent our house was too small. Because it is hard to sell a home while living in it with four children, we felt it was necessary to move out. But we could not buy a new home until our old home sold. So, we put all our belongings in storage and we lived in our Pop-Up Camper for over three weeks. We were excited to get a contingency offer to buy our old home the first day it was on the market. However, finding a new home that was in the location we needed, within our budget and large enough for a 6 person family, proved to be a daunting challenge. One of the homes we tried to purchase was snatched away as we were about to sign the contracts, and two more slip through our fingers because of problems that came up during inspection. With mere weeks left before school started, we were getting anxious. Then, a house located only blocks from where we previously lived hit the market. We held our breath as we entered the home….it was cheaper than all the other houses we looked at, and over 1000 square foot bigger!  Surely we thought, there must be something wrong with it….but the house passed inspection with flying colors! Just in the nick of time too, we moved in days before the children started school. The adoption process took longer than we hoped, it was not finalized until  February of the following year. But all is well that ends well, and we could not have for seen the far reaching changes that summer brought to our family.
