Harvest Moon is spectacular. I love that Amanda was able to give the kit a fall feeling, while surprising us with unusual colors and elements. I mean, unusual for a Autumn kit :0) Here are a couple layouts I made.

Autumn is in the air….

I really enjoyed using Soigne Scraps Autumn line. So much in fact that I used all three kits! You can get them by clicking on the following links.

Autumn Ellies  Autumn Fairy Costume  Autumn PackABacks

On this first layout, the photos were taken with one of the earliest Digi cameras available for consumer use in the USA. The quality is not so good. But if I did not scrap them, we would be missing most all our pictures from this time period. I hope that by doing this white space style and keeping the photos small it will minimize just how noticeable the “bad quality” is.
Template by Brenda as a prop for the September Blueprints Challenge at Gotta Pixel
Alpha by Scrappy Girl for the September Alpha Addiction challenge at Gotta Pixel
On the second layout, I had such fun morphing my DD and her best friend into Pumpkin Patch fairies! I really have a thing for fairies lately. (Chuckle)
I just could not stop using these kits! So I made one more layout of DD and her BF :0)

Another new Creative Team! A template to share!
Darling Dinos by Amanda Dykan was the PERFECT kit to scrap photos of our camping trip to Dinosaur Valley State Park! I have been looking for the right kit for this event for years. Thanks Amanda! This kit is just full of wonderful accents. The clay elements are my favorite. I also LOVE the Clay Alpha Add on and the Baby Dino Doodles Add On, perfect for adding accents with out overpowering the colors. I have more photos of this trip to scrap, but I was so excited I could not wait to share these with you. (chuckle)

Our camping trip to Dinosaur Valley State Park was an adventure in time travel. The Paluxy River flows over solid rock that contains some of the best preserved dinosaur tracks in the world! It was awe inspiring to walk along the river and know that dinosaurs had been there. We spent much of this day playing in the river bed looking for dinosaur tracks. The children were thrilled to learn the first Sauropod tracks were discovered here. We also found lots of Duckbilled and Theropod tracks.

For today’s freebie, I made a template from the layout I created above. Click here to download. Leave a comment, I LOVE to hear from you!

That I have joined the Creative Team of Pamela Donnis! Pam is a “fairly new” designer, but don’t let that fool you. That girl is TALENTED! Just look at her kit Modern Nature.

Modern Nature

I just LOVE this kit! Being a family that shares in allot of outdoor activities I am ALWAYS on the look out for great outdoorsy kits. BUT I don’t like them too girly or with lots of flowers, etc. Modern Nature is just perfect, and so much fun. Aren’t the flowers just adorable? I love that tree!

Here is the layout I made today :0)

I made this layout for the “It’s Elementary, my Dear Scrapper” challenge at Elemental Scraps. A fun and easy challenge that would be great for a new digi scrapper. They give you a free QP to start with. All you have to do is add photos and embellishments to make it your own. The QP for this challenge was the brown paper with the orange border, journal block and white frames.

Oh! I almost for got your freebie! Hee-Hee I made this title/wordart with the rubberband alpha that is included in Pam’s Modern Nature kit. Love those rubberbands, so many possibilities. Want the whole alpha? Pick up Modern Nature here you will be glad you did.  The font on I used on the word “Free” is Troutkings BTF. Like the title “Swing” but don’t have a use for the word “free”? Simply crop it out! BIG THANKS to Pam for allowing me to share! Click here to download. Please leave a comment, I LOVE to hear from you!

Lots of layouts to share today!

I am so excited to share layouts made with Sonja by Claudi Designs.

I made the first layout for the Faith Sisters Inspiration Challange “Restoring My Soul“. I really debated on sharing something so “private” but it was the first thing that came to mind when I read the suggested theme. So I took that as a sign that one of the steps the Lord wants me to take toward “Restoreing My Soul” is sharing my life experiance. Even if just a little.

As a child I have been through and/or seen my mother go through every form of abuse you can imagine. Some I hope you can’t. I grew up in the worst neighborhoods and went to terrible schools.  As a matter of self preservation, at the age of thirteen, after a long stay in the  hospital, I built a mental wall, blocking out almost my entire childhood. I remember that things happened to me, I remember what happened, but I no longer remembered the specific details of the various events. I no longer cared about anything.  During my teen years I “had issues”. It was only by the grace of God that I did not wind up in jail or dead in an alley.

Eventually I met a man who was like not other, the same man that became your father. He worked hard to tear down my wall. He taught me to laugh, I learned to love again. Yet, there has always been a part of me that remains unseen. The shadows, still linger there.

When the Lord brought you into my life, I thought he wanted me to help you. While our situations were not the same, you too had a very difficult beginning. In all the world I knew, there were few who could understand you as I do.I knew I could help you through. There was still time to save you.

Little did I know that was not all God had  planned. To help you, I  have had to face my own demons that lay buried deep inside. I soon realized that was God’s plan all along.

He gave me to you and you to me and we became family.
I thought I was saving you, all the while you were saving me.

It is a long hard road ahead, but we will walk together.

The layouts below are of photos taken during a camping trip to Colorado Bend State Park.

For today’s freebie, I made you a template inspired by the my layouts above. I work in PSPx2, but usually save my templates to PSD format as well. For some reason this time, the program wanted to merge all the layers when I tried to save in PSD format. If anyone knows what might cause this, I would appreciate it if you could let me know. Thanks :0) Click here to download.

The following layouts were very easy to make. I just kept flipping and mirroring the images to get four different looks!

I have been wanting to do “something fairy” with this photo of my DD for a very long time. But whatever I tried just did not look right. That is until I purchased the August issue of Artisan! It is full to the BRIM with fabulous layout ideas and tutorials. There are some very talented people at the Artisan Guild. I just had to join, and I am learning so much already! I am not one that normally reads Ezines or even Scrapbook Magazines, but Artisan is well worth the investment!

SOOOO what do you think of MY FIRST FANTASY LAYOUT?

Everything I used in this layouts was made by various contestants in the recent K-JOI Designer Search. The theme was fantasy.  K-Joi is currently experiancing growing pains. I will post a more accurate link and specific designer names when able.

A new Creative Team and a Freebie!

I have joined the Faith Sisters Digital Creative Team. (Do you see me doing the happy dance!)  I am really looking forward to spending my days within the Faith Sisters community. A circle of friends brought together through our love of Jesus and the desire to express our faith in creative ways. There are a couple of amazing challenges regularly posted on the Faith Sisters blog.

I made this first layout for the Week 36 Scripture Challenge. The theme is Treasure.

Allot of people over at Faith Sisters make scripture cards, etc for this weekly challenge. I decided to make a Scripture Calender instead. The layout above is my calender topper. The layout below is the calender page.

The fonts on the above layouts are Feehand471 BT, Leasterix and Ankora

Everything else is by Journeys with Jamie Designs available at Faith Sisters.  I loved using the  2008 Complete Calendar kit The templates are so versatile, they can be used for much more than making calendar pages, just look at my layout below! Even the calendar could be easily adapted for whatever year you need. I am thinking of making 2009 calenders for my daycare parents, I have so many pictures of their little darlings. This would also make a GREAT Christmas present for Grandparents! Cutie Pie Denim is another fabulous kit by Jamie. I simply could not resist making a girl page! (Chuckle) The cutie in the photo is one of my day care girls.
Last but not least, I was so happy with the way “My Greatest Treasue” turned out, I decided share with you the word art I made for this layout. Fonts are Feehand471 BT, Leasterix and Ankora. Click here to get your copy. PleaseLeave a comment, I love to hear from you!
