Howdy y’all! Sorry I have not been able to keep my blog up to date. Between the holiday rush, family and health issues, time has just gotten away from me this month.

We recently had our family pictures done, and I could not wait to make a card. Kits are Today and Spooks, both by Sweet Tomatoe Designs.

Sweet Tomatoe’s Joy To The World by Issac Watts December Lyrics Challenge at Designs in Digital was the perfect inspiration for my Christmas card. Not only did it work well with Cara’s Today kit, it is one of my all time favorite Christmas songs! All you have to do to participate in this challeng is use all or part of the lyrics from Joy To The World in your latest layout and upload it to the Designer Spotlight Gallery. Remember, while this is a Christmas song, you may use any of the lyrics for any themed layout you wish.

Have you checked out Cara’s featured designer deal at Pretty Scrappy yet? You can grab 1/2 the TODAY kit for $2, make a layout and post it in the special gallery and forum, and get the 2nd half for FREE. Hurry over and grab this incredible deal NOW before it ends. Today has also released it at Faith Sisters  as a full kit if you don’t have time to play along at PS.

In the spirit of the season Cara of Sweet Tomatoe Designs as agreed to let me share my Christmas Card and matching envelope with you as a FREE GIFT! In case you forgot, I created this fun non traditional card with Cara’s Today and Spooks

I also recently made a couple layouts of my daughter’s 19th birthday party with Cara’s Grateful Kit. I know you’ve got a long list of things your grateful for, so why not grab Sweet Tomatoes latest kit, Grateful, and scrap them today? It is so rich and versatile that you can create layouts for any number of themes! You can grab it at Pretty Scrappy, Designs in Digital or Faith Sisters.

12 Days of Christmas Faithbooking Challenge: Day 6 of 12

fs_12days_150x50

We are half way through the challenge, but there is still plenty of time to join in the fun and FREEBIES!

Each week you will be presented with the traditional verse, it’s Biblical meaning, and a free mini kit that you can use to create your layout. You are not required to use the kit, but it’s being made available to you as a free gift. After the 12 weeks are over, you should have a reminder that you can share with your family every Christmas as to what the Biblical meanings are for “The 12 Days of Christmas”!

This week’s challenge is hosted by Emma Moore, from Eyelets Scraps Designs and features the sixth verse:

On the sixth day of Christmas,
my true sent to me
Six geese a-laying,
Five golden rings,
Four calling birds,
Three French hens,
Two turtle doves,
And a partridge in a pear tree.

How awesome to think that this simple song on the sixth verse refers to the 6 days of creation!!

First day: God creates light (“Let there be light!”)—the first divine command. The light is divided from the darkness, and “day” and “night” are named.
Second day: God creates a firmament (“Let a firmament be…!”)—the second command—to divide the waters above from the waters below. The firmament is named “skies”.
Third day: God commands the waters below to be gathered together in one place, and dry land to appear (the third command). “Earth” and “sea” are named. God commands the earth to bring forth grass, plants, and fruit-bearing trees (the fourth command).
Fourth day: God creates lights in the firmament (the fifth command) to separate light from darkness and to mark days, seasons and years. Two great lights are made (most likely the Sun and Moon, but not named), and the stars.
Fifth day: God commands the sea to “teem with living creatures”, and birds to fly across the heavens (sixth command); He creates birds and sea creatures, and commands them to be fruitful and multiply.
Sixth day: God commands the land to bring forth living creatures (seventh command); He makes wild beasts, livestock and reptiles. He then creates Man and Woman in His “image” and “likeness” (eighth command). They are told to “be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it.” Humans and animals are given plants to eat. The totality of creation is described by God as “very good.”

There is still plenty of time to join in The 12 Days of Christmas Faithbooking Challenge at Faith Sisters!

This year, our theme is “The 12 Days of Christmas”. We’ve all heard this song growing up, but we might have never realized that each verse of the song also had a Biblical meaning. So, over the next few weeks, we will be exploring the Biblical meanings of each verse of the song and you are to create a layout which shows what it means to you. Each week you will be presented with the traditional verse, it’s Biblical meaning, and a FREE mini kit that you can use to create your layout. You are not required to use the kit, but it’s being made available to you as a free gift. After the 12 weeks is over, you should have a beautiful reminder that you can share with your family every Christmas as to what the Biblical meanings are for “The 12 Days of Christmas”!

Had a few more layouts to make of my daughter’s day hike. I used Whoa! Love My Tractor BIG kit Designed by: Meredith Cardall. This kit is PERFECT for all of your outdoor photos, St. Patrick’s Day photos as well as your anyday photos!

The first layout was made for the October By The Numbers Challenge at Gotta Pixel.

Journaling says: Hanna was an exchange student from Germany and was very excited to learn all that she could about the United States and Texas. While most of our friends took her downtown and showed her the city, I decided to show her the true, natural, beauty of my country. So, Tori, Hanna, and I set off for Inks lake in Burnet. We spent the day hiking at Devil’s Waterhole, Geo-cashing of Vulture Peak, and having a picnic at the lakeside

Tractor_L5upload

Jounaling says: We were freezing the entire time, although Hanna seemed pretty comfortable. We talked about the cultural differences between the US and Germany and about the presidential election. Hanna was astounded by the magnitude of it and said it was something she would never forget and would tell her grandchildren about. Afterwards, we visited Longhorn Caverns. Hanna had never even seen a cave, let alone walked in a whole network of them and was amazed at it all.

Now for your Free gift! I made you a Nine Photo Template based on the layout I created below.
